My friend Greg Barnes had to make a trip to the vet that none of us want to make. Hoss had to be put down.
I had the honor of running Hoss several times when it was impossible for Greg to do so. He was unique-- never a "total company man" always a little "self-employed". He made you think and stay on your toes. But he was a pleasure to watch. Big, beautiful, and hard running dog. Hoss was the first dog I ever passed at the Grand. None sweeter than the first.
Thank you Greg, for the opportunity!
In closing- "See you on the other side Hoss. Maybe Greg will let us pick up a few more." What a champion!!

HRCH DAISY THE DUCK DOG
HRCH THOR GOD OF THUNDER
When I met Greg almost 7 years ago I knew very little about hunting dogs and absolutely nothing about field trials. He helped train me as well as my dogs because I knew nothing about owning and working a hunting dog. Now I have two Hunting Retriever Champions and a third dog well on her way. My family and I have enjoyed countless days in the field with our companions, and many life long memories of our kids playing with our well-trained retrievers in the yard. None of this would've been possible without him.
Thank You,
Chris Gunter
